WA seniors to receive cost-of-living rebate as state flags fresh household relief
Western Australia is rolling out a cost-of-living rebate for Seniors Card members, with singles and couples set to receive direct payments as part of broader budget relief measures

Western Australia’s Cook government is continuing its cost-of-living support for older residents, with the annual rebate for WA Seniors Card members set to be paid next week. The payment will deliver $110.07 to singles and $165.10 to couples, while the state says the measure will provide $33.8 million in direct assistance to more than 351,000 seniors.
The government said the rebate is part of a wider package of financial relief aimed at households facing rising living costs. Alongside the cash payment, seniors will also be able to use the 2025-2026 Discount Directory, which lists participating businesses and services offering savings to card holders.
Officials said the support is targeted at older Western Australians who often face pressure from utility bills, transport costs and everyday expenses. The government has also pointed to other senior-focused concessions, including public transport discounts, water and local government rate relief for eligible card holders, and security-related rebates for households.
In parliament, ministers have previously highlighted the scale of support available to seniors through the concession system, describing it as part of a broader effort to ease household pressure. They have also noted that the cost-of-living rebate is one of several recurring measures used to support pensioners and low-income residents in the state.
The latest payment comes as Western Australia continues to expand its budget relief measures across fuel, education, energy and housing. The state has framed the package as a response to the cost pressures affecting families, retirees and concession card holders across the state.
